Adventures in Kenosee!

Hey Everyone!
Just wanted to share a post about our (mine and Trevor's) trip to Kenosee Lake!

It's been quite some time since I've been to Kenosee. I think the last time my family took me I was around 8 years old. I have always remembered it to be tons of fun, quite large, and amazing. We decided to go for three days this year just to see what Kenosee is really all about. I was a little unsure that it would rival my memories of days past and live up to what I remember it to be, as most things from our childhood tend to. This was definitely not the case. Maybe it's because I'm still pretty much the same size, or maybe I'm just easily amused, but Kenosee really blew me away. Again. Just as much or more than it did when I was a kid.

The waterslides were the main attraction I wanted to revisit. I remember screaming the whole way down the tube slides (yes, you really do get to ride on big tubes down the waterslides). I also remember not having the guts to attempt the freefall slide or the Bonzai (3 humps spanning 70 feet downhill). My main mission was to have just as much fun as before and also conquer at least the Bonzai. And I am happy to report, I did just that!

Trevor and I decided to start with what seemed like a fairly innocent tube ride down one of the "easier" slides. However, that all changed when we read the signs wrong and ended up taking our first tube ride down a slide that had a 6 foot drop halfway through it and was for "EXPERIENCED RIDERS ONLY". Whoops. I guess that's one way to get it over with! So with a sore tailbone I continued my day and had a blast on all of the slides multiple times.

Next came the Bonzai. As I said before, this slide spans somewhere around 70' from top to bottom. All downhill, over 3 humps. Did I mention that both Trevor and I are afraid of heights? Finally I grew a pair and decided to try the slide with Trevor. It's scary from the top looking down but once you have made your move to go down it there's no turning back. Basically, after the first hump I was thinking "well, this isn't so bad!", but then by the time I made it to the second hump, my speed had DOUBLED, and the third hump I'm pretty sure I got air. Terrifying, but I did it. Twice!

There are pictures below of the water slides and mini golf at Kenosee! The mini golf was so much fun too!

There's so much more about Kenosee to talk about; mainly the golf course, the lake and scenery, and the starry night sky. However I think this is enough for one day. Stay tuned for the rest in the next few days :).

Thanks for reading!
Kayla
