Hi friends!
First blog post! I'm new at this so bear with me. I have so many things to share with you and just wanted to start out by saying that if you have any ideas or input for me, please do not be afraid to share it!
I LOVE doing anything new or creative and have done so much lately, it's about time I started sharing in a place where more than facebook users can see it! That being said, if you like facebook, feel free to check out my page here!
I'm going to share with you in my first post the area of art that I'm most excited about right now... photographic transfers!! This is a process that takes over 30 hours from start to finish but the more I try it the more I love it! So far I've successfully transferred photographs onto wood and lampshades and I will continue to experiment.
The reason that I love this technique so much is that it combines my love of photography with my love of art. There's something so special about seeing photographs that have meaning on raw materials. Seeing the lamp lit up for the first time or just the feel of the wood I get to use makes me feel wonderful about what I've done. I look forward to trying this technique on other materials such as canvas and tile.
Here are a few examples of some of the transfers I've tried:
